History of the Department of Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry was opened in 1986 as part of the Faculty of Physical Culture of the Shymkent Pedagogical Institute named after M. O. Auezov, the first head of which was appointed associate professor Abdillaev Bolat Abdillaevich.

Abdullaev Bulat Abdullayevich worked as a teacher, head of the department, dean of the Shymkent State Pedagogical Institute from 1986 to 1991.

In 1989, the "Chemical-Biological" faculty was formed and divided into 2 departments of "Chemistry" and "Biology". The head of the Department of "Chemistry" was Ph.D., associate professor Mombekov Serikbai Mombekovich.
In June 1994, the Departments of General, Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry were opened on the basis of the Department of General Chemistry. 
    The head of the Department of "Organic Chemistry" was appointed Ph.D., associate professor. Mombekov Serikbai Mombekovich.
In December 1994, the head of the Department of Organic Chemistry was appointed
Ph.D., Associate Professor K. S. Madykhanova.

Since June 1995, the Department of "Organic Chemistry" was headed by Ph.D., Associate Professor Urisbaev T.U.

Since September 1995, the Department of "Physical and Colloidal Chemistry" was opened, the head of which was Ph.D., Associate Professor Eszhanov S.E.

From 1994 to June 1997, the Department of "General, Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry" was headed by T.G.D., Professor S. K. Turtabaev.

In December 1997, all departments were merged and transformed into the Department of "Chemistry" in accordance with the requirements of modern times. The head of the department was appointed Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Zhanabaev B. Zh
. In February 2000, the Department of "Chemistry" was divided into the departments of "Organic and Physical Chemistry" and "General, Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry". 
The head of the Department "Organic and Physical Chemistry" was appointed Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Zhanabaev B. Zh.

From 2003 to 2008, the position of head of the Department of Organic and Physical Chemistry was headed by Ph.D., Associate Professor Koblanova O. N.

The Department of "General, Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry" was headed by Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor A. M. Ashirov.,

From September 1, 2005 to October 23, 2006, the Department of Chemistry was headed by Ph.D., Associate Professor Kystaubaev E. I.

Since September 2008, the Department of Organic and Physical Chemistry has been headed by Ph.D., Associate Professor Madibekova G. M., the Department of General, Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor A. P. Aueshov.

In 2009, the two departments were merged, reorganized into the Department of Chemistry, the head of which was appointed Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor A. P. Aueshov.
From 2010 to 2016, the Department of Chemistry was headed by PhD, Associate Professor Madibekova G. M.

From January 2017 to the present, the Department of Chemistry is headed by PhD, Associate Professor B. B. Shagraeva.

The scientific potential of the teachers is high. Currently, the department is taught by 19 professors - teachers in 18.25 full-time units, including 1 Doctor of Sciences, professor, 11 candidates of Sciences, associate professors, 2 PhDs and 4 senior teachers, 1 teacher. 
    1 head of the laboratory, 1 engineer, 3 laboratory assistants work as auxiliary personnel for conducting the educational process.
