HOW PREPARED ARE YOU TO MEET THE EMPLOYER?

What if you were invited to an interview?

Preparing for an interview with your employer:

1. Preliminary information about the company, its corporate policy, principles and requirements for candidates will help you remain calm and confident during the interview. In advance, prepare questions and proposals related to the scope of the company, its organizational activities, key goals and achievements. Determine what your main job responsibilities are.

2.Prepare a short story about yourself (often employers ask “To tell about yourself”) The question should not confuse you, and you should give a clear and concise answer. Start with “With your permission, about me ...” in a clear and concise form, with a brief description of your profession and activity. The interviewer wants to hear you as a specialist by asking a question. If you do not have experience, you can say why that industry is interesting. Keep in mind that your conversation should reflect your enthusiasm and interest in working in that area.

3.Think about what the interviewer is asking you and answer the question. Keep in mind that questions are based on what you say and what you write in your resume. You may be asked questions about your monthly salary, so be prepared to answer. Do not appear naive to your employer, do not underestimate yourself. However, you do not need to give up work even if the employer cannot provide you with the payment you mentioned, because the company does not increase the payment (if it is not a large company with high standard salaries) just because you have resigned.

4.Although corporate policy allows you to dress in casual style, it is best to dress in classic style when you go to your employer. If a business suit is not your style, then it is best to put on what suits you and what you feel comfortable wearing. Present yourself as a reliable and responsible person, you do not need to appear strict.

How to behave in a meeting?

1.Do not be late for an interview with your employer. However, it is best to arrive 10 minutes earlier and “pull yourself together”, calm down, get acquainted with the office and only after that start the interview. If you are late, do not panic: just apologize to the interviewer, you do not need to explain your delay. Do not knock on the door before entering. Firstly, it is not part of business ethics, and secondly, it shows lack of confidence.

2.When you are asked to sit down, take a seat in the place you like and feel comfortable. Choose a seat so that there are no obstacles between you and your interviewer. If the chair is inconveniently located, it is best to move the chair to a convenient place so that there are no obstacles between you and the interviewer (so that you're face to face).

3. Do not sit on the edge of the chair. Do not be tense, feel free. Speak fluently. Do not keep your arms crossed on your chest, this means that the person is closed in himself and does not want to talk. Remember, sitting cross-legged may not be pleasant for the other person. In addition, do not bend your legs under a chair, keep your legs level.

4. Remember, you're not on an exam, do not panic and do not be nervous, stay calm and confident. Just as you need a job, the employer is interested in you and your skills. That is, if you were not regarded as a specialist, you would not be invited to a meeting. Even if you can't completely get rid of anxiety, do not express it. If you have a habit of scratching your nose, playing with your fingers, touching your ears, etc. when you are nervous, it is best to keep your hands on the table.

5.Do not force yourself and do not be shy. Do not try to seem perfect, you do not need to pose. If you do not know in advance, and the interlocutor is experienced (as in large companies), then your facade will be exposed. Do not resort to pretense so as not to fall into an awkward situation.

6.Keep a good mood with a warm face and a smile (do not overdo it).

7.When answering questions, keep in mind that most employers pay more attention to what you answer than to how you answer. In most cases, the employer does not look at the professionalism of the candidate, but at his individual characteristics, relations with the person, impartiality, self-confidence, patience, etc. You do not need to explain something in depth and eloquently. Instead, your thoughts should be clear, your words concise and clear. When answering, it is important to look directly into the interlocutor’s eyes and not to gesture too much during the conversation.

8.Do not forget to take a break. If you have finished answering, and the other person still hasn’t said anything, it would be superfluous to say something. Wait untill he speaks.

9. When the interview is over, be sure to smile warmly and ask when you can find out the result of the meeting.
